Day 1 - After our long flight across the pond (made far longer by the last minute cancellation of our Munich to Florence flight and the scramble to switch 15 seats to a Montreal Rome flight, due to strikes, and the challenge of finding the 5 ladies from out west who had already left by the time this happened!) we were thrilled to be met at Rome airport by our guide Alessandro, who will be taking care of us during our Tuscany stay. We were driven to our home base for the next six nights - Palazzo San Lorenzo Hotel, located in the quaint and picturesque town of Colle di Val d’Elsa, in the heart of the Tuscan hills. The beautiful scenic drive from the airport has given us a taste of what we have to look forward to in the days ahead. We are all excited to begin our adventure. We made it in time for our first delicious dinner together. Vino, our beaver mascot, is thrilled to be making this trip to Tuscany with such a fun group.
