Last weeks demise of Conquest Vacations affected many people. Those preparing for an upcoming vacation, those already on vacation, employees of the company and travel agencies who are owed commissions. Unfortunately business closures are a sign of the times. Every day we hear about companies closing and the number of people unemployed about to lose their jobs. Even though we know the statistics, we are never prepared when it happens to us.

Following are options to recoup your losses.
If you purchased your travel services from an Ontario registered travel retailer (travel agency) and paid by credit card and the payment was processed by Conquest Vacations (Conquest Vacations appears on your credit card statement) you may contact your credit card company and request a chargeback. Should you be unsuccessful in obtaining a chargeback from the credit card company, your may request a claim form from TICO against the Compensation Fund.
Those who paid by credit card to a registered Ontario travel agency and the travel agency processed the payment (Name of travel agency appears on the credit card statement) should contact the travel agent or request a claim form from TICO against the Compensation Fund.
Those who paid by cash or cheque to an Ontario travel retailer, may request a claim form from TICO against the Compensation Fund. Please note that there is a legislated 6 month claim filing deadline.
