Girlfriend Getaway Weekend, Collingwood April 2013

I don't usually start with a Testimonial but I think this comment from Carolyn sums up the weekend perfectly.

Ladies weekend was F A N T A S T I C.  Debbie out did herself again.  Everyone had a wonderful, funny, heartwarming, food eating, bonding weekend.  A stellar event!

Thanks Carolyn

GIRLFRIEND GETAWAY WEEKEND, Collingwood Ontario
The weather was fantastic, sunny and high teens.  The Beild House Country Inn and Spa was the perfect setting for our get together. From the welcoming entrance, to the comfy rooms, the spacious living area, friendly accommodating staff and exceptional service to the delectable food. We couldn't have chosen a better place for our Getaway.  The Amazing Women that attended and the relaxing and fun activities.

Friday afternoon some of  the ladies took some well deserved down time at the Beild House Spa to pamper themselves with fabulous spa treatments: massage, reflexology, facial, manicures and pedicures.  So relaxing and the staff at the spa are exceptional. Some ladies visited the Scandinav Spa, to relax in the outdoor hot pools, sauna and steam room. This fabulous spa is set amongst the woods near the base of the Blue Mountains.

Dinner this evening was at the Huron Club, a well know hot spot for locals and tourists.  The food  was great and the company excellent.
After dinner we returned to the Beild House for an old fashioned pyjama party.  Some ladies dressed in creative costumes and there were prizes awared for the funniest, sexiest, most creative and most original.  We played a few games which had the ladies laughing.
Two Truths and a Lie was a great ice breaker as we learned a few secrets about each other and Most Embarrassing Moment had us howling with laughter. Unfortunately I can't share their comments as they all agreed "What happens in Collingwood, stays in Collingwood"

Saturday was an action packed day. After our delicious breakfast we took a scenic drive up the mountain to enjoy the view of  Georgian Bay and the surrounding areas from the look out point.

Our drive continued through the countryside to the Ravenna Country Market for a brief lunch stop. The chef is well known for his fabulous soups and sandwiches and people come from miles around to enjoy his tasty creations. They also have delicious buttertarts.  Yummy!

We continued our country drive to the Georgian Hills Winery where we were treated to a wine and cheese tasting.  The weather was so nice we enjoyed our tasting outdoors on the patio.  Clear blue skies, warm breeze and delectable wines and cheeses.  A fabulous afternoon was had by all.

Our drive continues along the shores of Georgian Bay as we wind our way back to the Beild House.
It's tea time.  The pastry chefs have outdone themselves with an array of delectable desserts.  After a quick break we head into the kitchen where chef Eric and assistant Amy teach us some of their kitchen secrets.
Free time.  Some ladies visit the spa, some take a walk about town, others relax outdoor on the patio to enjoy the warm sunny aftternoon.

The evening begins with cocktails and hors-d'oeuvres in the drawing room.  Chef Eric and his team prepared many delectable treats to tantalize our taste buds.

This evening's 4 course dinner is served in the elegant dining room.  The chef's gourmet menu has an array of options to choose from: pan seared scallops, chicken Kiev, roasted lamb chops, filet of sole and much more.  The service was excellent, the meals delectable and the company exceptional.

Sunday morning, after another fabulous breakfast the ladies are treated to a guided historical walk through the streets of Collingwood. Bill shares his stories and wealth of knowledge about the towns rich history.
A good time was had by all.
Thanks to everyone for making this a successful, enjoyable weekend.  Perhaps next year's event will include a tour of the Scenic Caves, the Treetop Canopy Walk or Ziplining for the thrill seekers.
I look forward to next years Girlfriend Weekend Getaway!

Last day in Paris

Everything has to come to an end. Most of our ladies are flying home to tomorrow.
Back to reality...
Five of us went to Versailles. It was a perfect day.
Sue and I split and rented a bike and had fun with Vino the Beaver.
We met up with some of the gang close to the Seine boat Cruise dock and had dinner, where we met Beaujolais the house cat. He was hungry, some fed him leftovers and introduced him to Vino. It was love at first sight.
Other ladies went to the Louvre and other musea and some to the Opera.
Time to pack....
It has been a good time. Nanette is leaving tomorrow for Holland for10 days and the ladies are flying home.
Thanks for a great time!
Salut & Bon Voyage.
